Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Guitar NutBuster®?2020-04-19T18:26:03-04:00

The Guitar NutBuster® is an attachable, user-installed, completely non-invasive Locking Tune Stabilizing System that’s easy to use and offers significant control over the most common tuning problems.

Does using the Guitar NutBuster® damage my guitar in any way?2020-04-18T21:28:14-04:00

The Guitar NutBuster® requires no modifications, wood routing or screws and is not permanently mounted to the guitar in any way.

It is a completely floating and suspended system that attaches solely to the strings and hovers over the headstock completely off of and away from the wood and paint finish preventing any damages from possibly occurring to the guitar while in use.

What does the Guitar NutBuster® do and how does it work?2020-04-18T21:29:07-04:00

Guitar strings are continuously moving back and forth over the nut during normal usage which greatly increases the odds of a string getting stuck and causing the guitar to “sound” out of tune.

The Clamping Down/Tune Locking feature of the Guitar NutBuster® combines the individual tensions of all (6) strings to create a collective and unified tension that forces the strings to move together and return back to their clamped down and “in tune” positions.

Where is the Guitar NutBuster® located and how is it held onto the guitar?2020-04-18T21:30:04-04:00

The Guitar NutBuster® is a floating and suspended system that actually hovers over the headstock and is located just behind the guitar’s nut.

It doesn’t actually mount to the guitar itself but is solely held in place by the guitar strings as they run through the Guitar NutBuster® and into the guitar tuners.

How long does it take to install the Guitar NutBuster® and set it up?2020-04-18T21:30:59-04:00

The Guitar NutBuster® attaches to the guitar in minutes during a normal string change routine by fishing the strings through it and into the guitar tuners.

Proper setup and procedure by closely following the appropriate Setup Guide for your guitar is key to gaining the most benefit and having the very best experience possible while using the Guitar NutBuster®.

Which tremolo systems can the Guitar NutBuster® be used with?2020-04-18T21:31:54-04:00

The Guitar NutBuster® is designed to be used with all (non-locking) stock tremolo systems available.

However, the Guitar NutBuster® is also a great tune stabilizing system for non-tremolo equipped electric and acoustic guitars adding noticeable sustain and tone enhancements while also offering the convenience of fine tuning accuracy using the on-board Micro-Tuners!

Can the Guitar NutBuster® help with “D” and “G” strings binding or hanging up at the nut on my non-tremolo electric or acoustic guitar?2022-04-22T13:21:20-04:00

Electric and acoustic guitars that have (3) tuners per side headstocks will typically experience tuning problems associated with the “D” and “G” strings hanging up and binding at the nut due to their extreme string path angles.

The Guitar NutBuster® re-aligns and straightens the string paths as they exit the nut while simultaneously locking all (6) string tensions together, preventing string/nut hang-ups or bindings from occurring and keeping the guitar in tune!

What sets the Guitar NutBuster® apart from traditional locking systems?2020-04-18T21:34:47-04:00

Traditional locking systems require irreversible modifications to be made to the guitar. Due to its patented “All-in-One” and floating/suspended design, the Guitar NutBuster® is the only Tune Stabilizing System available that is completely non-invasive, non-damaging and requires absolutely no modifications, wood routing, screw holes or guitar parts swapped out.

All for just a fraction of the cost when compared to purchasing and installing a Traditional Locking System. The Guitar NutBuster® is proudly designed, manufactured and assembled in the USA!

What is the advantage of the Guitar NutBuster® verses locking tuners?2021-02-10T14:45:38-05:00

Locking tuners allow for a faster string change and also enable string lengths to be minimized reducing tuning issues related to having “extra string length” coiled around the tuning posts but they unfortunately do not directly address the primary source and cause of the most common tuning problems which is the guitar nut itself.

The Guitar NutBuster® locks down the tuning configuration and addresses the primary cause of tuning problems directly at its source all without having to make any modifications or changes to the guitar and eliminating the need to install locking tuners!

If the tremolo system is set to be non-floating (tremolo bar can only move downward) or if the guitar does not have a tremolo system installed then the guitar will not go out of tune if a string is broken as normal.

However, if the guitar has a tremolo system that is set up to be floating (tremolo bar can move both upward and downward) then the guitar will likely go out of tune if a string is broken as normal.

Does the Guitar NutBuster® remain completely stationary on a guitar like a Traditional Locking System?2020-04-18T21:39:06-04:00
